Music Connection Magazine's Hot 100 Live Unsigned Bands
The Podunk Poets Pull into Las Vegas - Live 2 Play Network "Their traditional, vocal-heavy sound is a throwback to a style that is pure Opry with a bit of Bakersfield thrown in. If your idea of real country runs more along the lines of Merle and Willy, Tammy and June than Toby Keith and whoever is the Nashville flavor of the week, you need to check out the Podunk Poets."
Long Beach Country Invasion - Examiner.com
"Kelly Kidd and Cindy Jollotta handle the vocals for the band and at times channel Cash and Carter with their deliveries and do an amazing rendition of their hit song Jackson."
RockabillyHall.com "Being bornt and raised in California it always brings a smile to my face when I'm made aware of a young band based in California carrying on the California Country Sound. Give these kids a listen."
HoaxFilms.com "Live music provided by The Podunk Poets kept the energy up all night and with their classic country tunes had guests dancing the night away."
The Lower 48 (Plus 2) "You take an angelic voice like Cindy's and pair it up with the dulcet tones of Kelly Kidd, throw in some extraordinary musicians like Patrick, Jake and [Grady] and you've got a recipe for greatness."

Male frontman Kelly Kidd relocated to Los Angeles from Houston to work with vocal coach Seth Riggs. Soon thereafter he landed a record deal with mega-producer Glen Ballard (Alanis Morrisette, No Doubt) with his band The Messies. Kidd has opened up shows for acts such Fall Out Boy, Scissor Sisters & One Republic.
Reflecting back to his childhood days of hanging out with country music legends like Tammy Wynette while his momma gave oilmen tours of the legendary honky tonk Gilley's, Kidd conjured up The Podunk Poets - a return to the duet style of classic country adding to it a little old country show sugar & spice.
Guitarist Jake Kelly is so well-steeped in country music it should come as no surprise that some of his favorite guitarists are those of the pedal steel variety, of which he emulates on a standard guitar to great degree. Jake was a long-time partner to Universal artist Gary Allan, contributing his guitar work to the artist's first six albums as well as writing several of the songs. Jake fills his very few hours of down time writing for music publications such as American Songwriter and Singer & Musician Magazine, and music blogs for the Live 2 Play Network.
